Another Round Of Embarrassment From Bad Politicians!

An article published today by The Chicago Tribune, repeatedly discusses the cloud over Senator Roland Burris' head regarding Mayor Daley's decision on whether or not he should resign. Luckily enough, the Mayor returned from his trip to the United Arab Emirates, only to be greeted by a press conference with questions on what actions will be taken against Burris.

Rather than providing his opinion, Daley mentioned housing foreclosure issues and a job stimulus program that is in the works, and commenting that Burris "has to figure this out" for himself. Isn't it interesting that Daley made the same comment in December, regarding removing Blagojevich from office, but never stating it directly.

Tribune reporter, Rick Pearson, also published a blog yesterday about growing concern from U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin who had reservations about initially seating Burris after he was picked by Blagojevich. Similarly, The Chicago Sun-Times proclaims that there are more holes in Burris' story; and the Chicago Reader thinks the door's closing on the Roland of Opportunity.

And why not check out The Tribune's opinion section full of political pun with: Mr. Burris goes to lunch.

While Chicago's prominent news organizations have been receiving flak regarding some bias in their political discussions, it seems that The Chicago Tribune, The Sun-Times, Chicago Reader and many others share the perspective of its citizens, that there isn't much to figure out -- Burris needs to get the boot -- and the Illinois political saga needs to end.
